David Kabakov joined the Board in 2013. He was born and raised in Sacramento, California, and graduated from California State University, Sacramento. He moved to Palo Alto in 1972 where he resides with his wife.
David holds a contractors license and was CEO of a modular building company and his own home remodeling company. In 1997 he became a board member for the Palo Alto nonprofit La Comida de California, a Nutrition Lunch Program for seniors. He served there for eleven years as treasurer, vice president, and president. He received the Palo Alto Star Award from the City of Palo Alto Human Services for service to the community. David’s particular interest in Abilities United lies with aquatic therapy. He has been a participant at the Betty Wright Aquatic Center over the last thirty years. His goal is to continue to make the aquatic facility services available to all who need rehabilitation, fitness, and recreation.
