Cynthia Owyoung

Cynthia Owyoung joined the board in 2016. Her passion for supporting people with developmental disabilities stems from her experience advocating for her brother, who is a member of this community. She is honored to serve on the board of Abilities United to further its mission of advancing, including and advocating for people with disabilities. Cynthia is the Founder and CEO of Breaking Glass Forums, helping individuals and organizations build stronger, more inclusive leadership. Cynthia is known for integrating a diversity and inclusion lens into all aspects of the business. Prior to her calling in human resources, Cynthia launched a strategic planning consultancy, increasing the capabilities of non- and for-profit organizations in organizational development, brand marketing and business strategy. Cynthia earned an MBA in human resources from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, a bachelor’s in marketing and finance and a bachelor’s in psychology, both from the University of California, Berkeley. A San Francisco native, Cynthia still lives in the area with her husband and two young sons.
