On Friday, February 24th, Abilities United held its Business Partners Appreciation Breakfast at Homewood Suites in Palo Alto. This annual celebration recognizes our Community Partners – those businesses and organizations in which participants of Abilities United work as employees or in a volunteer capacity. This year’s honorees ranged from municipalities to grocery stores and a health club (and Homewood Suites itself!).

Attendees were treated to comments from Abilities United CEO Charlie Weidanz and Vice President of Programs Soheila Razban thanking the Community Partners and recognizing their tremendous commitment to and participation in our mission of independence and inclusivity.

Perhaps most poignant were the personal stories shared by Board President Rachel Segars, Job Developer Jaclyn Fratangelo, and participant Joel Martinez. Joel, an employee at Homewood Suites, spoke of his great appreciation for his work, his boss, and even how he enjoys paying taxes! It was a wonderful morning and reinforced the spirit and significance of collaboration that is so integral to the success of our participants, the community partner effort, and Abilities United as a whole.
