adult day activities
Every day is a new opportunity to live life to the fullest.
At Adult Day Activities, you choose from a variety of activities to experience new opportunities and learn. You and your friends participate in activities to learn household tasks such as shopping, cooking, laundry, cleaning, and gardening; community life skills like transportation usage and restaurant dining; and how to access community resources such as libraries, museums, theatres, parks, and other public areas.
Services
Each day, Monday through Friday, you decide which activities you want to participate in and which daily living skills you want to develop. You have an opportunity to build friendships and relationships with other individuals who have chosen to participate in the same activities you have selected. These activities focus on helping you practice skills such as:
- Community living
- Communication
- Social/recreational
- Motor skills
You use these skills in activities such as:
- Volunteer work
- Day trips to museums, parks, libraries, and stores
- Art and music classes
- Garden maintenance
- Social club activities such as dances, movies, sports activities, Abilities United club, etc
The most important thing is that you make your own goals, choices, and decisions with whatever support and assistance you need from your family, friends, and Adult Day Activities staff.
