Community involvement matters.
As a member of your community, you have access to many free public resources and activities. You can choose from a variety of social and volunteer activities that let you give back to your community. And you have opportunities to make new friends and learn exciting new things. At Community Connections you can volunteer at dozens of local organizations, learn new things in our educational series, and develop communication skills when you help produce the Community Connections cable TV show and newsletters.

Volunteer Jobs
At Community Connections you have fun while you work to help other local nonprofits, senior centers, nursing homes, and community service organizations You choose from dozens of group or individual volunteer jobs:
- Maintenance and office work at the American Red Cross
- Art classroom maintenance or assemble mailings at
- Community School of Music and Art (CSMA)
- Book sorting at Friends of the Palo Alto Library
- Fish tank cleaning and maintenance at Marine Science Institute
- Park cleanup at Mitchell Park in Palo Alto
- Food preparation for the animals at the Palo Alto Zoo
These are just a few of the many educational and important volunteer jobs available to you!
Education
You can attend the educational series that gives you valuable information and tips about:
- Health care
- Financial planning
- Nutrition
- Safety
- Animal care
- Dental care
Communication
Help produce the Community Connections cable TV shows! Choose from the tasks that are required to film TV programs such as:
- Interviewing guests
- Story telling
- Preparing the stage
- Filming
- Editing
Or help write the Community Connections newsletter! We need your skills and interest in:
- Interviewing
- Writing
- Photography
- Design
- Distribution
